Tick Tock, Body Clock
University Brief
This full-page illustration features my illustrative interpretation of an article published in Breathe magazine, titled 'tick tock, body clock'. The article describes the importance of our circadian rhythm and its effect on our overall health. I chose to focus on overexposure of artificial light also known as 'blue light' in the evening. I illustrated two lightbulbs dynamically hanging from the top of the page to show this. Self-contained within each bulb was a person playing on their phone in bed. The subtle cues on each of their faces suggest they are both wide awake, which could negatively affect their productivity and lifestyle choices the following day. I chose to complement my illustration with a blue colour scheme, emphasising the theme of artificial 'blue' light.
