Animal Innovators

University Brief

Here is a snippet of work from my final independent research project at university. I have a fascination with how the world works, particularly in relation to nature, so I wanted to use this as the foundation for my research. I chose to explore the connections between animals and technology through a term called biomimicry. This is a practice that learns from and mimics strategies found in nature to solve human design challenges. The outcome of this research is an illustrated book titled ‘Animal Innovators’, which teaches older children and adults about Biomimicry through a range of interesting examples.

More from this project coming soon…
